Civil Service Commission

The Civil Service Commission adopts rules and regulations, consistent with State law, for the examination, appointment, demotion, transfer, and promotion of uniformed (Police) personnel.  The Commission hears and determines complaints and appeals.  

Member Requirements

A member must be a citizen of the United States, a resident of the city for at least three years immediately preceding appointment and a registered voter.

Meetings

The Civil Service Committee meets at 11:00 a.m. the first Thursday of each month in the Council Chambers, as posted. All meetings are open to the public.
