Brad Douglass

Biography

Councilmember Douglass is the father of two young children--a girl and a boy-- and husband to a patient and supportive partner, Maureen. The Douglass family staked its Black Diamond claim in 2021.

Maureen and I chose to make our home in Black Diamond because it reminded us of the towns where we grew up in Kansas and Pennsylvania. We wanted space for our kids to be kids and a sense of place where we and they would be proud to call home.

Councilmember Douglass is a champion of personal liberties and supporter of small business. He strives to listen more than he speaks and would rather engage with those whom he disagrees than those who say what is already on his mind. If Councilmember Douglass had to sum-up his personal and political philosophy in a few short words, he would say he is anti-extremism and pro-human.

I can usually be found in one of the many parks and playgrounds in and around Black Diamond. If you do find me there, I hope you will say hello and maybe strike up a chat. When I am not outside with the kids, I can sometimes be found at Druid's Glen looking for lost balls in a variety of hazards.
