Biography

Councilmember Deady was elected to the City Council in 2011, and re-elected in 2015 and 2019. She was appointed to serve as Mayor Pro Tempure in 2015 and 2019 and is currently the longest-tenured Councilmember.

Tamie grew up in Black Diamond and graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1988, after high school she attended Highline Community College.

In 1990, she married her high school sweetheart Brock Deady and moved to Spokane where they had two children Christopher and Quentyn. After five years in Spokane they moved back to Black Diamond. In 1996 they built a house on the property where she grew up and in the following years had two more children, Joshua and Mariah.

Councilmember Deady has been active in our community in various organizations, She regularly
volunteers at the Black Diamond Community Center and served on the Board at the Black Diamond Community Center for over 5 years.

She earned her Association of Washington Cities Advanced Certificate of Municipal Leadership in 2018.

During her time as a Councilmember she has received 3 awards from residents during the Labor Day festivities, 2 Civil Servant awards in 2016 and 2019 and 1 Hero award in 2020 for organizing a garage sale benefitting the Community Center, which brought in $26,272!

Councilmember Deady enjoys spending time with her two Granddaughters, Skylar and Embyr.
She also enjoys spending time outdoors camping, gardening, hiking, and participates in competitive sports such as volleyball and raquetball.
